Subject: Night of a Thousand Stars Invitation
Night of a Thousand Stars is an annual fund raising event held by the Nebraska AIDS Project since 1993. The first year the event was held, a benefactor for the agency at that time offered a $50,000 grant if the agency could hold a fundraiser that would match that amount. NAP volunteers developed an idea of holding a series of pre-parties prior to a main gala based on the idea that every client served by the agency and every volunteer for the agency would be represented by a star, knowing that someday that they would number more than a thousand in the State of Nebraska. That year NAP raised the funds necessary to match the funds offered by the benefactor and Night of a Thousand Stars became Omaha’s largest fundraiser at that time.
Nearly 20 years later, Night of a Thousand Stars continues and this year the NAP Kearney office would like to offer an opportunity for the central Nebraska area to participate in pre-parties at a local level and also in the main gala at the state level. A $30.00 donation will admit one to the local party which consists of complimentary food, beverages, a silent auction, and entertainment for the evening. An additional $20.00 donation will admit one to the main gala to be held on Dec. 3rd, 2011, at the beautiful Magnolia Hotel in downtown Omaha. The main gala will also consist of complimentary food, entertainment and a silent art auction as well.
We hope you will be able to participate in this year’s Night of a Thousand Stars fundraiser and become one of the stars needed to help fight the AIDS epidemic.
Tickets may also be purchased by check. Send your check to Nebraska AIDS Project, P.O. Box 2378, Kearney, NE 68848 or you may call to R.S.V.P.
Must be 21 or older to attend!
