Film to Be Shown: Incompatible with Christian Teaching
Sunday, November 14, 3 to 4:30 p.m., Saint Paul UMC, 1144 M St, Lincoln
This film is a documentary detailing the stories of clergy and laity who seek to change the official position of The United Methodist Church relating to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender persons and open the doors of the church to all.
The filmmaker, Anne P. Brown, will be present for conversation following the film. This is an opportunity for people on all sides of the debate to listen and strive to understand the view of those who seek change and inclusion.

Please note the correct time: 3 pm.
This is an excellent opportunity to invite people in your congregation who might be in the "movable middle" to join in a conversation about how we are to be in ministry with GLBT people.

Resolution 2041 (adopted by General Conference 2008) dedicates the United Methodist church to “a ministry of Christ-like hospitality and compassion to persons of all sexual orientations ... welcoming sexual minorities, their friends and families into our churches and demonstrating our faith in a loving God; ... listen(ing) and open(ing) our hearts to their stories and struggles in our churches; ... encouraging study and dialogue around issues of sexuality; and praying for those for all who are in pain and discord over our Christian response to this controversial issue.”

A trailer for the film is posted at http://www.annepbrown.com/Film:_Incompatible_with_Christian_Teaching.html
