Action: This is not the UM Global aids fund but the ONE campaign & Global fund, the needs are great!! - No Child Born With HIV

ONE Campaign put this out today! 
 
Also give to the UM global aids fund through the website or through local offerings at your church this year..  www.umglobalaidsfund.org

1) Articles on www.umc.org about HIV AIDS and how to help in local churches. Become an AIDS Ambassador today and promote the UM Global AIDS fund offering Dec 5 near World AIDS day!  See below...  
 
2) NE UMC HIV AIDS Fund Task force Meeting, Tues, Sept 21, 1:30 PM, Gathering place, Trinity UMC, 511 N elm street, grand island, NE.  Let marta and andrew know if you are coming as i will be out of state now.  I hope to be around for our next meeting if possible!  mwheeler@hamilton.net and caseworker2-nap@charter.net
 
3) AIDS walks in six cities on the same day this year - Sept 12. Don Messer, Chair of UM Global AIDS fund will speak at the rally at 1 PM at UNK, Fine arts building, registration noon to 1 pm for the walk!  www.nap.org for more info and Hastings College in hastings is another site of the AIDS walk in Central NE.  
 
Pledge yourself or others, get a team together or come with a friend or your family!   Make a faith response to AIDS today. If you cannot be there, make a pledge or walk somewhere else and still get the pledges there with a friend.  Contact person for the AIDS walk in Central NE is Rev Marta Wheeler, Giltner and Phillips:
 
Get involved and get a team together for the AIDS walks Sept 12 (proceeds to NAP or NE AIDS project in NE for the five agencies that help those with HIV AIDS in NE.. www.nap.org ) from your local church, Sunday school class, Christ Care group, support group, office or work colleagues or group!
 
4) Don messer will also preach at Faith UMC, Kearney at 10 am, Harmon park that morning sept 12 for their outdoor service ahead of the AIDS walk and rally!
 
5) Bill Black, Trinity UMC, Lincoln and Maureen Vetter, Trinity UMC, G Island, NE are planning to attend the LIGHTEN THE BURDEN III Conference in Dallas Texas Oct 14 - 16, 2010.   If any of you still want info on this or can go let me know! mvetter@charter.net 
 
Registrations to the LIGHTEN THE BURDEN III Conference are due sept 20 and we want to have our registrations in by next week if possible -----  go to www.umglobalaidsfund.org
